Abstract:
This research has dealt with the study of flood follow-up, methods of using it, and
knowing the results of flood forecasting by using mathematical equations and
knowing the most accurate results from the equations and a difference between
them. The relationship between the water level in the cities of Abu Hamad and
Atbara was deduced, as these equations are used to predict the rise or discharge of
the Nile water at Abu Hamad station, given the height of the water in the city of
Atbara, and the prediction period reaches 24 hours. A comparison was made
between the values of the water height resulting from the equation and the values
of the measured water height in the city of Abu Hamad by means of the
determination coefficient )R²) It was found that the accuracy of the equation is
66%. The equation of the mathematical relationship "exponential" between the
discharge and the height of the water in Abu Hamad was calculated. A comparison
between the discharge values resulting from the equation and the measured
discharge values in the city of Abu Hamad through the determination coefficient
(R² ( and it was found that the accuracy of the equation is 92.4%.
