Abstract

The study aimed to identify the impact of the Central Bank’s economic policies on the financing of economic projects in Sudan during the period (2021–2024), by measuring the relationship between economic policies (including recurrent changes in monetary policy and weak coordination between monetary and fiscal policies) and the financing of economic projects. The study adopted the descriptive-analytical method due to its suitability to the nature of the topic, and employed a questionnaire as the main tool for data collection from a purposive sample of 30 employees of the Central Bank of Sudan. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyze the data. The research yielded several key findings, most notably the existence of a strong, statistically significant relationship between economic policies and financing policies, emphasizing the influence of the general economic framework on the efficiency of financing distribution. It also showed that frequent changes in monetary policy directly affect project financing and increase financing risks. Furthermore, the results revealed that weak coordination between monetary and fiscal policies reduces the effectiveness of directed project financing. Finally, the study found that training and capacity building in preparing feasibility studies and economic policies positively impact the success of project financing. The study recommended strengthening institutional coordination between the responsible monetary and fiscal policy authorities, limiting sudden changes in monetary policy to ensure a stable financing environment, supporting training and capacity-building programs, directing financing towards developmental priority projects, and developing effective regulatory mechanisms.
