Abstract

It includes the hydrological study and hydraulic design of a box ferry model located at The intersection the Omdurman Arab road with Abu Salem Creek, Using The Arc Map program, Where the valley was mapped by determining the borders of the valley and drawing the paths of the waterways which works within the Geographic information Systems (GIS) environment, and The general inclination of the cesspool was calculated. Its value is .0.00143. The design rain intensity, was calculated using the intensity, sustainability and frequency curve, and its value is30 𝑚𝑚/ℎ.The design discharge passing through the culvert was calculated and its value was found to be 0.15 𝑚3/𝑠. Then the hydraulic of the box culvert made and it was found that the pass the drainage are 12 opening with dimensions of (3*3)m . The drainage passing through the culverts was calculated and reached 316.3𝑚3/𝑠 and the dimensions of the culvert were designed the box, using the resulting equation .
