Abstract
Abstract:
This research aims to design and implement an integrated smart door lock system based on
embedded systems technology to provide advanced home security at a minimal cost. The
proposed system utilizes the Arduino Uno as a central processing unit, with the core
software architecture developed entirely within the Arduino IDE environment using (C/C++)
programming. This approach facilitated the construction of sophisticated algorithms for
access control and task management.
The primary contribution of this work lies in the execution of a comprehensive engineering
simulation within the Proteus environment. A virtual electronic circuit was built to accurately
replicate real-world performance, encompassing the testing of the Passive Infrared (IR)
motion sensor, data processing from the Keypad, and wireless control via the Bluetooth
module (HC-05) through the Virtual Terminal. Additionally, the simulation monitored the
mechanical actions of a Servo Motor representing the door latch. The simulation
successfully validated the software-hardware compatibility and the effectiveness of the
"Lockout Mode" algorithm after three failed attempts.
"Wireless control was activated by linking the Bluetooth module to a smartphone application
(Serial Bluetooth Terminal). This allowed for sending programming commands and receiving
real-time status alerts directly on the application interface, with a coverage range of up to
10 meters, enhancing the system's realism and ease of use in the field."
